Living after Loss

Although my husband and I had only 10 years together and I have lived 8 years since his death, those years were life-changing and I miss him daily.

Dear Karel:Thank you for posting this. Many would think that grief is an episode in life. You are giving testimony to that is a new condition of life, requiring continual acknowledgement. We absorb it into our being and it stays. On the other hand, it is reminder of all that was life-giving and positive in our relationships with our dear one. Thanks for posting this. Love, Alice

Thank you, Alice, for sharing your thoughts on the nature of grief. Today is the 3d anniversary of the death of my dear husband and life companion. I still miss him but not in the same way I did in the first year.  He's just part of me now, and my children and I talk easily and lovingly about him, without tears, just fond memories.
Love, Elaine
