Text: Hanalie Waranch Treiber, 82 of Tinton Falls passed away on Thursday,
September 26, 2024 in Long Branch, New Jersey.
Born Wednesday, October 15, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, Hanalie was
the daughter of the late Calvert and Esther Waranch. When Hanalie was
a young girl, her family relocated to New Jersey, settling in
Maplewood. Hanalie was a graduate of Columbia High school and would
then go on to attend Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. Hanalie
then moved back to New Jersey, married, and went on to raise 3
children. She continued her education graduating from Rutgers
University with a bachelors in Psychology and later a masters in
Social Work.
Hanalie worked as a social worker helping children, and later made the
decision to go back to school enrolling in Cardozo School of Law,
earning her Juris Doctorate in 1987.
Prior to law school Hanalie chose to get her private pilot's license,
flying out of Flanders Valley airport. She wrote articles for Flying
Magazine to pay for her flight time.
Hanalie later married Elliot Treiber and the couple moved to Marco
Island, Florida. Hanalie had a love for animals often doing pro bono
work as an attorney for animal rescue organizations. Hanalie was an
excellent pianist, enjoyed listening to and playing all kinds of music
and later in life played the viola and violin for community symphony
orchestras. Hanalie loved collecting things, with her favorite being
Little Lulu dolls.
Hanalie was predeceased by her parents and her husband Elliot Treiber.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Stein, and partner Michael, Max
Stein, and Emily Rachel Epstein and husband Mitchell, her sister,
Karlyn Messinger, her grandchildren, Callie, Stein-Wayne, Joey
Epstein, and Cydney Epstein, and by her great grandson, Ezra Daily.
A Funeral service will be live streamed at 11:00 AM on Monday at
Jeffer-Harris Jewish Funeral Directors located at 3377 US Highway 9
Old Bridge Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in Beth
Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
