I knew Seese (I think that's how she spelled her nickname) first in boarding school - Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA.  She was a very sweet and very lovely young woman, and more of the natural, almost hippie, type than most of us who I remember as quite preppy our freshman year!

There were frive of us who moved from the all girls high school, Shipley, to MHC - Joan Cox, Seece Boyce, Susie Higinbotham, Peggy Kerry and me. Seece came from Colorado Springs which was a mysterious place "out west" to me then but later became quite familiar when our family lived in Denver for 20 years. My memories of Seece are visual - graceful movement, abundant dark hair worn in a long plait, ribbons of many colors to set off her braid, big smile emanating warmth. In the old days when we enrolled at MHC, most of the women came from the east coast and I suspect that some of the westerners felt like aliens. Now with so much diversity of all kinds on the MHC campus, perhaps Seece would have stayed with our class and graduated with the Class of 1963.
