Martha Kaus (Dursi)

Martha Kaus Dursi of Bedford, passed away on August 2, 2016 at the age of 75. Born April 2, 1941 in Rye, NY to the late Francis Joseph and Irene Douthit. Educated at Rye Country Day School and later attended Mount Holyoke College. A member of Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY since childhood. An avid golfer who won her first women's championship at WCC in 1959 and repeated that feat at least once in each of the next four decades. The most recent victory was in 1999. She was also runner-up on several occasions. In the past decade she also won the women's senior golf championship. She was a member of the women's Tricounty Golf Association, the women's Metropolitian Golf Association and Westchester- Fairfield Golf Association. She was loved and respected on and off the golf course for her charming and endearing manor. Her friends were legion. Martha was also a long time member of the WCC bowling team and one of its leading scorers. 

She is survived by her husband Joseph F. Dursi, M.D. They were married on August 12, 1967 at St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont, N.Y. They honeymooned in Paris, France and on the French Riviera. Immediately thereafter, they resided at Fort Eustis in Newport News, VA, where her husband was stationed until he was deployed to South Vietnam in 1968. Upon his return they resided in Scarsdale, N.Y. and in 1978 moved to Bedford, N.Y. They have a son, Joseph Jr., an attorney at law who resides in White Plains, N.Y. Martha is predeceased by a brother, Tyler Kaus, her sister-in-law, Virginia. She is survived by a cousin, Abbey Moeller, second cousins, Robert and Debbie Moeller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
